Staying safe at Christmas time

This time of year is always hectic and the temptation to rush and take shortcuts can lead to some serious incidents.

Over the past decade 22% of all workplace fatalities have occurred in November and December, equating to 51 deaths in the workplace. One workplace death is far too many and the fact that that all these families will spend the holidays grieving for a loved one who died as the result of a workplace incident is devastating. https://www.worksafe.vic.gov.au/workplace-holiday-safety

With work Christmas parties there can be a duty of care for the Employer and Managers too. They have an important role in making sure a Christmas function or event goes smoothly and people start their journey home safely. https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/tourism/articles/work-christmas-parties-and-duty-of-care
